Has anyone had any luck using electronic calls? I have used the CD with remote control before and they're pretty cool but I was wondering about the solid-state kind. That kind allows you to just press a button to get a specific call. While it has a lot of versatility, you really don't have much control of the "emotion". In other words, it plays the same tones every time. On the positive side, it offers about a dozen different sounds (mouse squeek, rabbit bawl, fawn bawl, feline distress, rustling leaves, ground hops, and even lamb & piglet distress calls. You can play 2 sounds at the same time which is also cool. For instance, you can press "ground hops" and "mouse squeek" at the same time to add realism.

Anyone use one in the field? Any luck?

My buddy has the Johnny Stewart brand I think, and he uses a tape of jsut rabbits in distress and we have taken quite a few in the winter. I use the howler and pup noises in February to pull the big males.

I use a Johny Stewart. I only use a mouth rabbit call. Too many people use the rabbit distress and a smart yote will not come in or howel on just the tape. I find with any electronic call that you have to suppliment any of them with a mouth call.

I have not heard of an electronic caller that does the individual calls for yotes.

If I can help anymore send me an e-mail.
