The lake locked up last night, now that means maybe 1-2 inches of ice in parts and others might have 3-5 inches. Kinda weird ice this year, its not uniform like you see on higgins from shallow to deep. The flows of ice are frozen in parts all over the lake and some parts seem to be thin and very clear ice maybe 1-3 inches. No snow on ice so it looks kinda scary in parts. Be very careful, nobody was out there fishing except one guy in the south end. I'm sure more people will start to venture out and check, but I would not come this weekend and give it another week just to be safe. Its getting closer..but not safe for the most part.
