I'm taking the 8 year old out to our normal spring time fishing area (if imerman is open). I've read that jigging is doing well. But, are there any other methods to catching winter eyes??? Does trolling work, bottom bouncing-minnow and spinner. Something that will work for an 8 year old who isn't ready to jig.

Any color, slower the better or just think spring.

Thanks for the info,
sean

Sean.

Rig the boy up a three way rig or a sliding sinker and floating jig head, hook a fat shiner in the lips and let him set in the hole. Winter walleyes are usually lethargic anyways, and I've caught pleanty by simply letting the offering set in the hole until the walleyes found it. :fish:

THANKS. Good ideas. I might just let him drag a lindy rig for a while. Depends mostly on where we are. Then troll alot.

thanks, and have fun.
