Hey all you harness tyers out there, how do you store your harnesses when you tie them in the off season? I have a tackle buddy that I put them on during the summer, but I plan on puting together enough this winter to make it through the summer, and I was wondering what everyone uses to store them? I don't think a couple hundred will fit on a tackle buddy.

Thanks in advance,
Dan

Thanks,
Dan

I wrap mine around one of my kids swimming noodles. You can cut it to what ever size you need. And they are cheap to replace.

I use the swimming noodles for the most used harness maybe a dozen or so. The rest go into small (3"x4") bags and into a larger zip loc that is in a rubberworm binder. I must have 200 in a 20 bag binder. Easy to store and inexpensive.

Dito what Ted said.....

Bag em in small plastic bags and then stuff em into a tackle logic worm binder

I loop 'em around 4 fingers and put 2 small pieces of masking tape around them to hold them (so they are coiled up). I then store them in a ziploc sandwich bag-3 to a bag. Keeps 'em organized and neat.

Pipe insulation works pretty well too.

Noodles. $5.00 for 5 feet at WallMart. Some of my new Finsel harnesses.

For those using noodles, how do you anchor the looped end to the foam?

The end hook of the harness itself at one end, and you can see the yellow pin head ends of the pins I use in the picture at the other end. :D

Dedge....

If you go into a Meijer's or "Wally World" (Wal-mart) or a sewing store... or some other similar store.... you can look in the sewing section... and you will find what they call "T-pins" (see photo below). They are not too expensive

You can get them in various sizes. You don't need anything real big... just big enough to hold them on there.... and the "T" end is good for that. These are what I use to hold my big lake trolling flys on noodles.... and they work petty good.

I hope this helps.

I too use the noodles and use to use pins to secure the looped end...then got tired of losing the pins or finding them where they didn't belong - carpet, seats, shoes, feet, etc.

Ended up trying something else and have never gone back. Take a serrated edge knife (a bread knife works great for this) and gently slice into the noodle while rolling it on a hard surface. Only make the cut appox 1/4" deep. I space mine about 1" apart and have 13" noodles that hold a dozen harnesses. Stick the loop end in the cut and wrap the rest of the harness up to the hooks - stick the hooks into the foam next to the cut and voila - no pins and they stay secure.

Went to WalMart and bought one of the cheap, flimsy plastic milk crates. Cut it down about 4"-6" and stand 25 noodles in it and it fits perfect in one of the compartments in the boat.

This has worked really well for me for years. Try a few different things and see what works best for you. Good Luck.
