WALLEYE MIKE

Went to the north lake at stoney this afternoon. 3 inches of ice and lots of small gills. Had the camera on and saw each gill I caught. Only one gill wasn't hungry and looked at the bait and left. Once I saw the wax worm disappear I set the hook, not once did I watch my line or rod. Visibilty was about 4-6ft. The hole I drilled was directly over a large stump. During one of the lulls in the action, something bumped the camera(my foot was not near it). 30 seconds later a pike was in front it. Saw it swim around for about a minute. Looked at the wax worm but was not interested. Next time I'll have a small gill ready on another pole. Felt nice to get out again.

Don, how can someone catch a cold and fever from a weekend of stealhead fishing? I'm no doctor but a cold is caused by a virus not from fishing. Hope to see you out at stoney sometime.

Hope you get over that cold soon N.O.
Walleye Mike, watching your catch through the camera had to be pretty cool ! I just bought a O.V.S. camera (Outdoor Viewing Systems) from Franks in Linwood. Pretty neat system, all self contained in a cordura "bag" to protect it and for transport. Can't wait to get out somewhere and give it a try.

Whale, I found they are much easier to view in a shanty because the glare from the sun and sky. I got a vista-cam last year but did not get touse it a whole lot. I like the 9 in. screen mine came with.
Hope you have fun viewing and catching.

Well the north lake isn't that big. We park in the picnic area on the north side and walk down the hill. Out to about the middle of the lake. If you fish to close to shore you will be in a lot of weeds. I would say about 150 yards from shore and halfway from the north damn and the bridge on 28 mile. 10-11FOW.
