Went out to Stoney Creek to check the ice out and 1 guy fishing in the back of Lake View Picnic area. He was out about 30 yards and I walked out and he had about 2" if he was lucky. He walked out about 10 more yards and but his spud thru and I proceeded to get off. He had 2 perch about 5" long. No one else out. Checked out the lake north of the north dam going to 28 mile no one. Open water in front of Eastwood Beach and also Baypoint.
Stopped in at r@r wine shop on 24 mile and Mound on the North east corner and he has minnows for 1.99, and chubs and also wax worms. I think he said he had wigglers but I didn,t see them. Right now he opens at 9:00 A.M but made the comment that he is going to open sooner but didn,t say when.

Just got back from a drive around Stoney Creek Metropark. I saw one shanty set up on the middle lake (south of 28 mile road) which was about 25 to 50 yards straight out from the trail coming off the Ridgewood Picnic area. I also saw 2 guys on the main lake straight out from the boat launch in the little bay there. I didn't see anyone on the main lake anywhere. (This was around 4:30 pm). I didn't stop to check ice thickness as I didn't have a spud or auger with me so thanks for the report Flyfisher.
