Run with the Lead #2's or BB also in Lead.. if your going to shoot Steel, Try T's..

I have always used #4 buck with a improved cylinder. Not to say #2's wouldn't work, they do. But you should check your pattern with those 2's with what ever choke you're using. I have just found that for my shotgun Moss. 500 turkey that #4's with the impr. cyl. throw a much more consistent and better pattern at all ranges that I shoot them in. Full, and extra fulls just are not the ticket. Hope this helps. - Askel -

When carrying a shotgun I like to use 12ga., 3" mag. BB shot. These are the same steelshot loads that I buy for goose hunting. I've only shot 2 coyotes with the shotgun, but it knocked them down. One at about 20 yards, and the other at about 20'.
Before using any buckshot in Michigan, I'd check the rules and regulations about being in the woods with buckshot outside of deer season.

My choice is #4 buckshot. It seems as if the #2 shot works well for close, stationary shots (15 yards or less). After sitting in the cold, I want to be able to shoot at one that's outside of that range or on the move.

I agree with you all the way BOSSTOM . Its hard to beat #4 buck with the longer shots. Knockem dead:D

For those of you who use buckshot, lets not forget that it is illegal to use at night. For this reason, I prefere T-shot.

While .223 is my prefered choice for coyote, 12ga 3 1/2 BB or BBB left over from Duck/Goose season have always worked real well for me.

Sounds like you guys hunt these dudes hard. I tried #4 lead because we hunted fox with it and I did kill some yotes but had multiple shots and was too messy. Switched to #2 lead and had better luck. Went to BBs and loved it . Tried #4 copper plated and was impressed load seemed to sizzle right in and anchor em pretty well...not many multiple shots. still waiting for some manufacturer to make copper plated BBs.
