Does anyone know of fishable ice in the Cadillac/Lake City area.
2" used to work for me, but I've gotten older and heavier and 3" makes me feel alot better.:)
Some fresh blugils or perch sure sounds good. Hope to get out somewhere tomorrow.
Tried Mitchell on Saturday. There was 2-3" in front of the launch. Didn't venture out very far. There was only a few spots along the shoreline where you could walk onto the ice without getting a wet boot. My buddy caught a few small perch. Might be worth another try today or tomorrow if you're not getting much snow.

I drove by Missaukee yesterday and saw lots of people on the ice don't know if they were catching anything or not. Also drove by Houghton lots of people on the ice there too also snowmobiles. Don't know what they might have been getting there either. I want to fish Cadillac but I still see wet spots on the ice under the snow!! I haven't seen anyone on Mitchell except in front of the boat launch in real shallow water can't be more than a couple of feet deep with a sand bottom. Supposed to stay cold this week maybe it will freeze up better this week! Hope so anyway. Good luck to all icefishermen and be careful on this first ice!!
