I thought I would start this thread so all of us guys from Kalamazoo, Berrien, St. Joseph, etc. counties could post the latest ice updates. With all of this snow we need to work together to find fishable ice for New Year's Day! I have a couple of reports as of yesterday but not confirmed by myself.

Austin Lake 6 guys out, Cemetary Lake by Battle Creek, a bunch of guys out there, Sunset Lake by Vicksburg, people fishing but watch the current.

Please post if you find good ice. Don't worry about ruining a spot. By next week I'm sure we'll have a lot more selection of lakes to go to.

Went for a drive today, out of 6 small lakes I checked only 1 had safe ice. Shamrock Park in Berrien Springs, open water & clear ramps, same at Jasper Dairy launch.
Good Luck & Be Safe, John

Fished a large private pond near Kalamazoo. It had 5-6 inches of ice on it and we fished in 5-6 feet of water. Between two of us we caught 10 gills in 1.5 hours. Great to be out there.
