I'm looking for a pulper interested in doing a habitat cutting in Midland county on 30 acres. If anybody knows an honest contact, please PM me with the information.

Thanks

Send a message to Orion on here. He had someone at his place last week cutting.

Letmgro, please post or pass along (pm) the info you acquire. I have 40 acres in Gladwin and have been interested in doing the same thing.

Thanks,
DaveK

Thanks Rob. I had a gentleman from Weyerhauser (sp?) come out to my 40 and give me an estimate over a year ago. I did not go through and have them harvest anything cause I didn't want to rush into anything and needed more time to convince my dad that it would help our deer and critters. I cannot find the letter and contact info now to save my life. However, when I do find the info, I will pass it along to you.

I checked with a friend who chips and has cleared several areas. However, the going price is only $2 per ton, so I passed on having him come in ours. I may have him come in after a few years though if only to get some of the older pines. Not sure how far he will go but if you want, PM me and I'll check with the fellow (Dave Thiel).

For us chipping is not an alternative as we desperately need the tops for horizontal cover (more of a habitat cutting more than anything). There's plenty of high-quality sawlogs, as-well-as tons of quality firewood available.

Not having much luck finding someone to do this in Mid-Michigan.

I have a close friend who just got into this buisness. Has a processer, semi, and skidder. He's located in onaway and travels all over. I think he's going to westbranch next. Anyone interested pm me.

Man that would make for a long day if he were to travel to Mid-Michigan to cut trees!

Talked with him this morning, he's hauling his equipment down to west branch. He will be there cutting for at least two months. It's about 118 miles one way from Onaway to West Branch. 4 hours travel time everyday, yea I wouldn't look forward to that either. Exspecialy in the winter!
