:D Well fishin friends, Its finally here. I was up by Blue water bait Sunday, 12-30-01. Guys were all over the bay. Ice was 3 to 4 inches and fishermen were having decent luck ( Perch 8 to 10 inches) and some good numbers. I was in the canal by the Raft and caught some decent crappie. Good Luck and BE SAFE!!! stay close to shore and dont push it yet.

Where is blue Water bait located. Is it in the Anchor Bay area?

Blue Water Bait is located right next door to the DNR access site on M-29 in Fairhaven. Just east of a place called Bud's, but west of the Raft.

Here the two best maps of the Bay that I have other than my Lake Charts.
http://fischmanspics.homestead.com/files/BlueWater1.jpg
On this first map, the little "boat icon" just east of Swan Creek point represents the DNR public access. Blue Water Bait is right next door (east side) of it.

This second map shows the same area, with the "red dot" in Fairhaven (again just east of Swan Creek Point) representing the DNR launch.
GOOD LUCK AND BE SAFE!!!

We usually fish Metro beach or the near by canals. Don't have to worry about floating away. Don't have to walk to far. Mostly gills and perch. Occassional pike and walleye.

naw, if you want perch and bluegills, go to the canels south of the clinton- NEVER! gotten skonked there!
for a little bigger perch, though, go to the Selfridge landing, or a little south.
you can also get there from the DNR site, just a bit farther to walk.
mike out:)

That is true at times rocketmike, but what are the ice conditions over there RIGHT NOW?
(Not sarcasm, i simply don't know. Just know Bouvier is about the first safe spot on the lake every winter.)

Got out on Saturday & Sunday... sorry for the last post... Saturday I just hammered the perch about 200yds south of the little grassy island in front of "The Raft" Over 100 fish on waxies, kept 36 nice eaters, was even catching them on bare teardrops. Go figure... Sunday was the complete opposite... 6 fish in 1.5hrs. It totally amazes me as to how one day it's fantastic and the next can be so lousey. Anyone else catching fish by fairhaven?:) :o
