Higgins Update. A liltte Houghton info as well.

Well here is Higgins Lake as of 12/30 at the South State Park.....it's still gonna be awhile guys.

On another note, Houghton Lake started getting ice as of the 21st and they are now fishing on it from what i read in the local nespaper up there. I have not made it over that way yet, but I hopefully will and get a picture to boot in the next day or so. Tightlines!

I went by Houghton Lake [Mon. 12/31/01] and seen people fishing and snowmoables on the ice. I didn't have my ice fishing stuff with me, so I didn't go out on the ice, next time I will be there.

I talked to my buddy who has the Lagoon Resort on 55 near Funtown. He said they have ice, but not good enough to really be safe. He noted there are always a few yahoos that dare the first ice, but not recommending it.

Do we have a Higgins update. I'm assuming Higgins still looks like the same. Any new pictures with any ICE on Higgins?

saw three boats fishing on it last saturday the water was quite rough.
