Why are we waiting for people to get home? Let's set an outing and if they can make it great, if not they can make the next one.

Well, we need to include them, not just us

I agree but this debate has been going on for awhile. We need to make reservations, arrange work schedules, baby sitters and such... I hope this can be done soon.

It's not as though I don't want some of these folks to go but things need to get done cuz this has been debated for a while.

I think we are down to two choices: the St. Joe and Chef's place. I was also thinking of the Rogue/Grand. It's not too far of a drive and I hear the fishing has been very good on the Rogue.

I agree and on the rougue in my view point I have heard it has been so so. How about this. January 18, 19, 20, 21. That monday I am off, though my family might plan something. Or, how about the weekend before that?

I think we should have it at the joe. I don't think (in my opinion) many people have fished this river and I have always wanted to try it. So, how about it?

I can live with the Joe if someone knows the river and has lodging suggestions (could just search hotels though I guess). I don't know the Joe at all and wouldn't mind fishing it. I won't have a weekend off again until march and don't want to waste much time searching out good water at this time.

I can only go either 18, 19 and 20th but have to be home at a decent time on the 20th for daughters birthday party or 26, 27 or 28th.

I live one minute from the Joe. Have fished it all my life. If you guys are coming to the Joe let me know when and I will join you all and maybe give you some pointers.

Mich Buckmaster, I read that the St Joe is very wide and deep meaning it probably doesn't offer wading or shore fishing. I don't have a boat at the moment and wonder if this is true. If so, a trip to the St. Joe would probably mean little fishing for most of us.

But the weekend is good for me.

Hey guys while we were at the last outing we were also talking about going to the Joe the weekend of MLK Holiday. I believe several of the people who attended the last outing will be at this one also. We were hoping to get everyone to go . That way we could call in advance to a hotel to see if we could get a group rate!!!! If you have any suggestions for Hotels in the area that would be wonderful. I will do the leg work to try and get us a discount. If you could all email me to let me know for SURE that you will be there. We will need a total # of the people in our party so that way they will know we are serious!!! Thanks for the info in advance:p

I hope everyone will attend!!! You don't have to be a river fisherman to join in on the fun!!!! During the day most of us fish but there are some who don't who hang out. Then in the evening we all get together and share our experiences...fishing and nonfishing!! It's always a great time with great people!!!

my email Nestermyer@peoplepc.com

HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL!!!!

Personally If you are going to fish from the bank I would wait at least until February, maybe even March. This will give you other places to fish off shore when they start bedding. I know of four different locations you can fish off shore when they are on their beds. This is some fun fishing, but the boat is definitely the way to go.

If the weather stays cold I'll be on the Walleye wagon for the rest of January! (I don't havta take time off work and I still can fish everyday)
I was thinking more like Feb. for an out-of -town adventure.... when steelhead fever sets in.

Rickey, don't be afraid to post on the progress of the walleye run.
I would love to hit the Saginaw a few times. I'm sure we could round up a few guys for a day on the river. I haven't fished it in many years.
I sold my 4 wheeler and walking the bay is out of question, but a day on the river sounds great.

For sure! I'd love some company on the river and since I fish it nearly everyday I am confident that I can get people on fish!
I don't have anyway of traveling on the bay so all I do is the river. Reports will be posted everyday once the ice gets better. right now we are looking at 2-6 inches in the downtown area and I haven't had the gonads to venture out!!!!!! 4-9 lb walleyes hit my net this fall on almost a nightly basis so this year should be really strong. Then again predicting a winter run on what happened in the fall is not very wise!!!!
