How do you use your boat as a fishin' tool to catch more/larger fish??

My answer:
When in the Big Boat in open water, the position of rod holders, planning devices and the gear involved, along with the Speed and often the Direction (determined by the waves) can be primary. Knowing how your boat reacts and handles in every variable and in all conditions, (even drifting) can only be a plus to the days end result.

When river fishing (the way I do it), "Angle" is often my first and primary concern (rather anchored or trolling) to intice strikes, and the best way to present all the offerings I use. I've seen to often simply slight moves of just 5 feet (up/down or side to side) make or break a day. ;)

Exhibit A for me: jigging on the Detroit River. Keeping your boat drifting at the exact speed of the current, and your lines straight up and down, is critical.

I Find it more productive on the Saginaw if I have my hands on my fishing rods when drifting in front of Hooters instead of the two handed squeezing action directed towards the restraunt. I don't think muttering ma`ma helps much either. :D

Well atleast more productive for catching fish.
