I just got off the phone with a buddy of mine from Ohio. He shot a nice eight point on Christmas eve and let it go until morning because he knew he had a liver shot. They had it on video, and after reviewing he opted to wait until Christmas morning. He found his buck with both back legs almost gone, the whole side ripped open, and one eye all ripped apart. He was hunting in suburban area where its bow only. This was shot right in Cincinatti.
Have you guys had similar stories about coyotes eating deer that quickly?

I had it happen in livingston county a couple of years ago.
Same thing I liver shot the deer it went about 25 yards and laid down. Came back first thing in the morning. Both back legs were basically gone. Ears gone.

Oh yea, Yotes are more than happy to make a free lunch out of your fresh kill. Sounds like a great place to lay down some #2s. Sorry about your friends nice buck.

Coyotes were created to clean up after kills. They don't know an arrow did the job. With them on the increase and deer seemingly on the decrease I would not leave one any longer than absolutely necessary. I have other thoughts on that too.
