My cousin called me up Dec 31st and asked if I wanted to do a little bunny hunting, I had nothing else going on so off we went. He told me his parents had just seen a group of 10 deer run into their swamp and he asked if I would push the swamp for him so he could try and get a doe......I pushed the swamp and out came the deer and down went a very large healthy doe. We slapped high fives. We then traded muzzleloaders for .22's and off we went for some bunnies. I didnt think it was a great day for bunnies but I was surprised, we jumped 5 rabbits in under 2 hours. I shot one at about 60 yards as he stopped for a brief second before running down the hole, unfortunately for him that 2 second pause was all I needed. I asked my cousin if he'd ever taken one on the run with the 22 yet and he said "not yet" I replied, me either but its fun trying isnt it. The stars must have aligned perfectly because I got two rabbits back to back and both were on the run at 50+ yards, I did find it easier the farther they got away to track them in the scope. We both laughed hard at the irony of my question and the results of my shooting, I wont claim it was all skill based on past results, but it was rewarding nonetheless. Sorry forgot to get pics!
