My dad and I are looking to take a trip up to Canada this year for pike and walleye (brook trout would be nice also). I'm doing some research but thought I'd post something here also to see if anyone might have input. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations regarding lodges somewhere between the Soo and Wawa? I'm not looking for secret lakes but rather pay lodges where they supply lodging, food, boats, etc.. Any goods and bads, do's and don'ts, time of year better than another? Thanks!

Been on a few fly in trips out of Wawa, and from my experience, you catch a lot of pike and walleye, but not too many big ones. That being said, there's something magical about climbing into a float plane and heading off to a remote lodge/lake. One of the best outfits I've found can be checked out at www.pineportage.com (http://www.pineportage.com) . Great facility, fast fishing, friendly people, good meals.

Go to www.wildernessnorth.com (http://www.wildernessnorth.com)
We went to Lake Ogoki outpost, greta prices, GREAT people. At the outposts cabin they fly you in and you bring your own food / beverage. The fishing was UNREAL!! There were 5 of us and I know we caught over 100 pile and walleye every day!! I caught many pike and walleye on the fly including a 42" dandy. There is a pic in my gallery. We caught 6 pike over the 40" mark and countless 30" pike. I highly reccomend this outfitter.
It is farther than WAWA, in fact it is about another 6-8 hours further if I remember correctly. We were in a motor home and stopped several times between wawa and the destination. It was well worth the drive

We stayed here a couple of times. You can now drive in if you want to save $$ instead of flying in. We caught pike and walley in one lake, and a nice trout stream is a short 20 minute walk away.

Oakley: I like the looks of this place. When I get some time later this afternoon I'm going to shoot you a PM with some more questions...I hope you don't mind.

Thanks for all the input fellas...it's much appreciated.

We've been to Pine Portage Lodge a few times. Fly -in only. I have an uncle that has been there 25 times. He won't go anywhere else.
