how's the ice in clare co.

does anyone know how the ice is in clare. im thinking about fishing lake george this weekend and wonder if its worth going. thanks.

I wasn't on any lakes but did some rabbit hunting and was falling thru the ice in the swamps all the time. If you go be careful and good luck.

clare co lake george had abot 5-6 of bad ice. there were snowmoblies on it but most white ice and the clear ice was honeycombed. 2-3 hits with the spud and i was threw. it seem safe but looked like crap. i caught a bunch of perch and gills in about 10-13 feet of water.i didnt want to go out any further.

Fished bud lake in harrison today, on the return trip from houghton lake. Bud has about 4-5 inches of good ice. Didnt do so well there (5 or 6 perch in a couple of hours) Houghton lake has about 8" caugh a few pike and A LOT of dink perch.
