ice conditions on small bodies of h2o

I have friday morning off and want to check out a new farm pond. Because I have been working sun up till sun down I have not been able to get out and check the ice conditions. What can I expect on friday morning for snall bodies of water. I think the edges may be slushy but what will the rest of the ice look like? Anyone been on any farm ponds lately?

Or should I be going for palmer road? or Linwood road.

Shameless bump! There must be someone fishing the farm ponds for gills. Any thoughts on thickness before I drive the hour to get there? TY in advance.

Drove by a couple farm ponds the other day by the Capac area but nobody was on the ice.
