Hit Palmer Rd. Monday (26th). Ice is solid, tight and DRY ! :woohoo1: 1" slush on top only in spots. 5" clear hard ice with 2" white ice on top. 60 or so people spread out with a dozen quads running all over. She was safe at that point. The fish were scattered, small ones EVERYWHERE. Couldn't keep the dinks away. Sorting brought me home 10 keepers from 8.5" to 10.25". Very nice to be out. Just a little breeze, not too bad at all. No heat needed inside the Pro. 3' to 5' water your best bet. WEAR the creepers, slick as snot. Parked down on the weeds off the end of Palmer, she's still frozen hard. Stay where the other vehicles go, some softer mud on the edges. Good Luck ! :D Started with a minnow till first decent fish, eyeballs after that with a minnow on the dead stick. Minnows were on a tear-drop, eyeballs on the Ken's hook (copper w/red bead).

Thanks for the great report. Did you walk? If so how far of a walk to get to the perch? Thanks.

300 yards. That's it. No quad necessary yet unless you're scouting. Watch the ice !!! Check it, check it, CHECK IT GOOD !!!

How do I find Palmer Road? I may have been on it before, but I have a bad habit of navigating by land marks instead of road signs.

Thanks in advance,
Old Bill

US-23 north from pinconning, to Worth Rd. Turn right, go to stop sign, (Old State Rd.) turn left, look for rd sign.then turn right again.
