Anything to be said about Wamplers...Ice or Fish?

Hey anybody know the situation about Wamplers Lake in the Irish Hills any Crappie or Gills being caught out there and how is the ice?

Both species in the lake. Not sure how thick the ice is, But I did see six shanties out there this morning.


They hold the super track attack tournament there every year and get a good amount of gills nothing big just good amounts.

Drove by yesterday, 12/6, on my way to the bait shop. Saw probably 6 or 7 shanties out in front of the beach area. Too far away to tell if they were catching anything but they are out there.

fished wamplers last night 12/27 in front of state beach. 6 nice crappies, lost another 5 in the hole, i pike on jiggin' rap, two breakoffs w/minnows on 2# test. also caught a ton of 2 to 4 in gills. saw one other pike caught on tipup. ice was ok. three inches, slush, then three more inches in spots. solid 5-6 inches in spots. 3 inches with a couple inches slush in others. no really soft spots. marked a ton of crappies on the vex, but it took some serious fishing to get them to bite. good luck all, and be safe.
