I will be out on Hamlin Lake tomarrow out of wilson park. Is anyone else fishing there? I will be wearing black bids and a Purdue hoody.

A little elf told me that a PFD and a row boat would be more appropriate if you attempt to go out tomorrow.

Sixshooter and I fished upper Hamlin Friday AM, on 8 inches of solid ice. I doubt if it's gone by now. Lots of sorting - the gills seem to be smaller on average this year than in the past. Good luck tomorrrow.

I have been fishing hamlin and think its time to move, the big gills have moved out. I took 15 nice gills yesterday but it isnt like two weeks ago. The first ice period is over and that incredible near in bite has tapered off. Every year the gills disperse after a couple of weeks, esp when we have had snow on the ice.

Well I just got in and it was tough fishing today. The gills were running small and there were some pike being caught. Walleye wise there were 8 guys out there after em and only one was caught that I saw. Me and my nephews were 0 for 0 so I am gonna go have a brew to forget about that.

I fished christmas eve with my dad we took home 30 gills, lots of sorting though, I agree on average they are running small. As for the ice situation, a buddy of mine went through on monday so watch for bad spots, there was water starting to drain through in some spots farther out towards the middle.
