Took my first trip to Saginaw Bay Friday night. I just planned on walking out and trying a little perch fishing basically to see how the ice was. When I arrived off the end of Linwood rd. there were only 5 other people fishing. I walked out about 400 yards and spudded a hole. Ice was close to 6 inched thick and water was crystal clear. I was in about 2 feet of water. I seen perch consistently through out the rest of the evening. Most of the action came the last 15 minutes before I couldn't see in my hole any longer. I caught and released a half dozen fished and missed on some bigger fish close to 9 inches. I plan on taking my son Monday morning.
