I am thinking of getting the storage bags and footrest for my Summit Viper but would like to see them first.
Cabelas did not have them - is there anywhere that stocks these in SE MI?
Love the Viper!

I have not seen any place that carries Summit accessories. I ordered my saddle bags staight from Summit through their web site.

For those of you that use them - do you find them handy? Do they bang around when walking or cause issues with nesting the top and bottom together? Are they large enough to hold the essentials you'll need for a day's hunt, so that the pack could be eliminated?

I have used the saddle bags this year and find them very useful. They hold enough stuff to make them worth while.

To answer your question, yes they are useful. I put everything that I will need and then some, in there. I have my 20oz bottle to drink, (1) field and stream magazine, (1) Michigan-out-of-Doors magazine, Snacks, knife, rope, all of the scents that I use, safety harness, TP (just in case.). Just about anything that I’ll need fits into the bags. There is no problem with the 2 halves mating up and there is a little trick that you can do to keep the bags from swinging as you walk. I have had mine for about 7 years now and would never give it up.

Jays has summit accessories. I bought the front bag for my viper, it was really cheaply made, thin material, way overpriced and the zipper tore off within a week. I emailed summit to ask about replacing it and they didnt even return my email. I wouldnt waste my money if I were you. Look for any kind of durable bag and attach it yourself. As for the footrest, it is nice. I also got the pad for the base of the viper so no dirt falls through to scare the deer. I have the bow and rifle holders as well.

I saw Bass Pro Shops at GLC had some Summit Accesories, not sure if they had exactly what you're looking for. I bought the bow holding attachment, works great. The Viper makes it awful easy to sit on stand all day.
The footrest is worth the investment. After I added it to my summit I seem to spend more standing then sitting. The footrest keeps you wedged in nicely.
