To bring everyone "up to speed" on where things are at. CWCC - Citizens For Wildlife Conservation is the official organization established to defeat the anti's. It is a coalition of concerned sportsmen in each of the counties of Michigan. The goal is to raise $3.2 million to defeat the anti-hunters' attempt to bring their animal rights crusade to Michigan. The money will be used to purchase advertising designed to educate Michigan voters as to the serious threat posed by the anti-dove hunting issue.

Among the leaders of the campaign are the top pro-hunting organizations in the US and in Michigan. MUCC, Michigan Bear Hunters Assoc., Michigan NWTF have joined forces with the NRA, Safari Club International, and the US Sportsmen's Alliance. We're on a mission the recruit every sportsman and sportsmen's organization in Michigan to join CWCC. We have many organizations that have already joined.

What you can do to help.

1. Literature is just being completed. Hopefully in the near future we will have it web based as well and we can direct you to a website. In the mean time, if you are part of an organization that would be willing to mail / distribute to your membership. Please send me a PM with your contact information and how many brochures are needed and I will see to it that we send them your way.

2. We have obtained booth space for all the major hunting/fishing/outdoor shows that are slated for this winter. We will be needing volunteers to work in these booths. If you are interested, send me a PM.

3. We are assembling raffles which we will be marketing heavily in 2006. If you or an organization you are affiliated with would like to make a donation - for example a gun, bow, chartered hunting or fishing trip. . . send me a PM and I will get you in contact with the necessary people.

We need everyone's help! This is not just a dove issue!! Anti-hunting organizations make no bones about it - they're out to ban all hunting in America! They tell their members the plan is to start with the easiest "sell" - trapping, bear hunting with hounds and dove hunting. Then they say they'll move to pheasants, turkeys, grouse, deer and ultimately fishing. That's why they've placed a voter issue on Michigan's Nov. 2006 ballot to ban all dove hunting.

The most poserful anti-hunting organization the Human Society of the United States (HSUS) / Fund For Animals is behind this push to ban dove hunting in Michigan. They are the ones that spent $125,000 to pay a California company to gather the signatures in Michigan to get this on the ballot. This organization has listed the elimination of dove hunting in Michigan as its top priority. They will not stop there. This is the same group that also listed banning bowhunting as a priority. Please get involved and do your part for the future generations of Sportsmen. If we raise the money targeted we can and will win. It sounds like a lot of money, but look at it this way. If everyone who hunted this year in Michigan were to contribute $5, we would exceed the goal. That is the power we potentially have behind us.

May I suggest a partnership with MUCC, and save your money- dont preach to the choir. Take out ads in newspapers, and reach non hunters. Few hunters will be against dove hunting.
Getting dove hunting back is going to be a fight.

Please reread above and you will find your concerns answered.

MUCC is on the steering committee and one of the main leaders of this organization.

"The money will be used to purchase advertising designed to educate Michigan voters (i.e. non hunters) as to the serious threat posed by the anti dove hunting issue."

Yes, we know this is going to be a fight and this is much more than getting "dove hunting back". This is standing up to the out-of-state anti hunting machine and telling them that they can't mess with the Sportsmen of Michigan. This won't be easy. That is why the target is $3.2 million.

Man I hope you guys get dove back on the list. I have access to a field that was overflowing with them this year just across the border. It was killing me not to be able to grab my gun.

Thanks Zeboy !
Will all the NWTF chapters in Michigan have literature and/or raffle tickets availible to them or will we need to contact you?
Just curious as we are now starting to get everything in order for our banquett.
It would be great if this info was passed out at all the NWTF banquetts around Michigan.
Let me know I can put you in touch with our VP of our chapter.
Also, I would love to have literatire to put out at the local hardware store, and feed store.
Thanks again, Glenn
