I was just wondering who y'all would use if having a nice buck mounted? Finally shot a decent deer this fall and am curious who to have do a nice shoulder mount. Preferably someone who does good work for a reasonable cost, don't need best quality, but don't want junk either.

Open the yellow pages, leave your mount at home, and go for a drive. Once you have visited all the shops and looked at the work, you can decide the quality/price that best fits your need. Take your trophy to the shop you choose.

If you want to drive to Owosso, I would be happy to help.

What part of Michigan are you in? If in southern Michigan, I would highly recommend Ron Bond Taxidermy in Union, MI. He is a national award winner with some of the most beautiful work I've ever seen. And he sends the capes to a tannery for an excellent soft cape that will not get hard and crack.

If you are closer to Muskegon, I would recommend Mike Hiner taxidermy in Muskegon. Again, excellent work and a good artist.

I've had work done by both and currently have a large 8 point buck at Ron Bond's. I've had work done in southern Indiana and in Tennessee. But these two MI fellows are as good as any.

Best of luck, Arch

I strongly second that. Ron does truly outstanding world class work.

I am planning to go out today and look at a few taxidermists to determine what to do with my buck. The information y'all have provided will be very useful, thank you.
