2-way Radios on the ice?

A friend told me that a lot of guys are bringing their 2-way radios on the ice, and using channel #7. I was wondering if anyone is using radios on the ice and if they are using channel #7?

Some FRS radios have "sub" or "privacy" codes/frequence option. GMRS radios do not have this option, they would always be operating on code/freq. "0", also on the newer GMRS radios the FRS channels are 1 thru 7. The "Official" setting for M-S.com is "FRS" Channel "7", the code/frequency is "0". :)
