had planned on hitting it at 6:30 am, but was worried about walking the ice in the dark my first trip out this year...ends up the ice is a solid 6-7"

ended up with 40 on the small side, most around 6-7", maybe 8 or 9, 8-9"ers

visibility was less than a foot, i was in 5 FOW...caught em on wigglers and the magic rig

there were a few other shantys out there which never moved...dont know if they were doing anything, but talked to a guy at the launch who talked to a few guys that came of the ice with the big skunkeroo

if they had only used the magic rig........

might be out tomorrow or thurs am

later yall

Hey koby while fishing up at Tawas for Steel in the marina this guy was getting some nice perch. I made my way over to see what he was using. All he had was a blood red Salmon egg type hook with a yellow Jensen egg over most of the hook, that was it. He was nice enough to give me a hook and egg. You could see the hook through the yellow egg. I figured it looked like a wiggler. I may give it a try this year on our lake.

koby i felt the same as you just opposite, i went out tonight for 45 minutes, i got out there around 7:50 PM. i was a little nervous about walking out there in the dark, but i was there sunday so i figured the ice would be thicker. i saw some frozen over holes, probably yours! i went out and my fingers froze even in my gloves, i had my spoon auger so i drilled one hole and spent all 45 minutes there, but i got skunked. oh well it was nice to sit under the stars and fish :) .
