Went to the Raft yesterday man it was a tought bite the fish were hook shy. Had to use 4 differant rods with all differant rigs, get a few on this one get a few on that one. I need a good challenge once in a while, got my limit. Ran into Mike the oldest, Fisious, Fasteight, coonor and last but not least Brainroy. Sorry had a brain fart and forgot my radio along with my Parka thank the lord for fishtraps. Went today before sunrise and the bite was a little better kept 18 had to go to work so I bailed around 9:00. I'm ready for some perch action. I all most forgot my bud tubejig had his dad Big Daddy Don V. along with his bud goo to see ya pops and thanks for the deer sauage. Tube asked me if I was ready for whippin yet, I almost stuck his head in a hole.

Good to see you again Ed. We ended up with close to a limit(if I could count) of nice sunnies and gills. Saw some monster gills and crappies, they just weren't as interested as the smaller ones. Nice to meet you guys as well.

Way to put it to em Ed. Sounds like you guys had fun out there. Gills were tough to go down here too with not to show for a couple hours worth of jiggin.

Its time for the perch and leave those gills alone until last ice.....:evilsmile

Congrats Ed you know I think I would rather sit in a boat on that cold river than on the ice for some reason.. I think I should hook up with Bob B and fish with him since my boat is put up for the winter.. I dont know if I will make it untill spring, I am starting to get slap happy .. Cya Slick

Your bass boat on ice, I guess that is one way to look at it.. Hey we are going to have to hook up with me for some muskies this summer, I just about got all the rods and reels I will need to be good to go for them toothie criters..

I wish you good luck out there Ed and how is Tubejig these days havent seen or talked to him in awhile since I am not an ice fisherman.. I am sure he is as ugly as ever but at least during the winter he is all covered up , When I fish with him during the summer, lets just say it is kinda tuff .. Well Ed good luck out ther and be safe.. Cya Slick

Sunday was a tough bite as I only took a dozen home but didn't keep and lower-end keepers. Too much BS'ing for me to muster a limit...Quite okay, though, even though the wind really sucked. Glad to hear they bit a little better this morning, Ed...If its blowing like that Wed., my next day out maybe the Monday after Xmas...But I wouldn't bet on it, I can't stay off the ice that long... ;)

Not sure if I asked you if you were ready for whippin, or I if you were ready for A whippin out on the ice. :D

I was in the marina by the raft myself on Sunday and Monday afternoon. Did quite well with wax worms and a orange tear drop. All gills but I am not complainin they tasted great in the frying pan. I was in a dog house hunting blind. Must have been in eye shot of you guys. I saw a post on all the small blue gills that were left on the ice out there, but the post got closed. Does anyone know why those fish were left on the ice or the post got closed?

I have a question about a fish I seen on my camera at the raft on Sunday. This fish had a long fin streching it's whole back, kinda ugly. Im guessing it was a bowfin. Are these fish in lk st clair?

Thanks Brian

Understood about the post. I have a question though. How do you catch all those crappie I see going by the hole? I got one the other day incidentally and it was huge and tasty. But I have not been able to entice them since. I have not tried minnows yet. Maybe I will today. Ay ideas would be apreciated. If you see my tent out there dont be afraid to say hello.

What were you using for bait and what kind of a hook were you using? Going to give it a try this weekend. Is there enough ice for 4 wheeler?

Small jigs, waxxies, spikes or mousses. No need for a 4 wheeler the walk out is 100 yards! 6-8 inches of ice last sunday..

Well hoping to get out Friday morning. I will have the radio on the big 7-0 looking for you ice king pins and some advice. Can't wait until I get one of those ice bass boats like the head king pin has ;)

Glad everyone is back at it for another ice season.
