View Full Version : Hawk Air Wawa , Ontario
I usually fly-in from Armstrong,Ontario but some years want a second trip and do not want to drive that far with the time envolved and with the gas prices. Has anyone used this company or any of the outfitters out of Wawa or White River? Thank You

Ive used Hawk Air 8 or 9 times. I would recommend them. They offer alot of choices as far as fishing different lakes for different species.
We used to go in the summer and do a split trip, 4 days for pike/walleye then to a different lake for brook trout. The last three times we went right at ice out in May to a pike/lake trout lake, kept our beer cold in the snow, but the fishing was awesome.
I just recieved their brochure in the mail this past weekend. Their prices have gone up since I last used them, but Im sure it takes alot of fuel to run those planes around.
If you have more specific questions about them let me know.

What lakes did you fish? I see that some of their lakes they allow a minimun of 2 people but they are very small lakes. Years ago we fished Little Missinabi with Air-Dale and did decent.

Goat, Easey, Duffy, Mosambik, Wejin, Anaharea, Dossier. Alot of their lakes have a portage where you can motor to an area then walk thru the woods to another lake where they have more boats waiting. My favorites were Anaharea at ice out, lots of big northerns and lakers, and Dossier in the summer, tons of brookies there. Wejin has two lakes and a portage to a lake trout lake also, you can fish all three in the same day. The Hawk Air people make lots of improvements every year to their cabins, and update their motors quite often too.
We usually drive up on a Friday and stay in Wawa at the Wawa Motor Inn. They have a bar and restuarant at the motel, then we drive the last 15-20 miles to hawk lake Saturday morning for the flight out.
Here is a picture of my brother [ImARedneck] fishing at Anaharea a few years ago.

wawa motor inn is the place to stay, love that place. I didn't hear you mention any of the lakes in the provincial park. These are the lakes to fish!!! No motorized vehicles in the park, so you have to walk it. But mom lake is right off the highway, caught a 4lb brook trout out of there 2 years ago. Also, Belanger might be the best lake on the planet for trout, but it's about a 5 mile hike off of the highway. All lakes require you to park on the highway and walk to destination. Gamatagama is another great trout lake, brook and lake trout are abundant. The park lakes are great because not many anglers are willing to put in the foot work to get to them. I would recommend snow shoes for the longer hikes. GOOD LUCK!
