I read an article a while back that suggested a dahlberg diver(Not spelled right I'm sure). They also suggested chartruese as a color.
Here's a pattern that I saw on flyshop.com and It has been stuck in my head ever since.
It calls for a #2 hook and three strips of rabbit fur.one yellow and two green. It would imitate a perch and would have a ton of action. Look it up in there fly library cause I can't remember the exact recipe.
ok Wheezer thanks i'll give it a try and let ya know how it works!

Hey Moe,
Big flies are the ticket for big pike. It is not unusual to use a 2/0 hook. A typical fly will have a crosscut rabbit hair strip wrapped around the shank of the hook and two large saddle hackle feathers curving outwards on either side for a tail. You can also tie in a little flash for attracting the fish. All sorts of colours will work. I caught them on white, black, red and so on. chartreuse sounds good though.
Have fun
Jim
