Thought I'd post some pics of some elk that have been hanging around lately. These are only a few of the herd that have been on my in-laws property since fall.

They are hanging around the area near my house. I live in Wolverine. I know they aren't the greatest quality pics. I was experimenting with my digital cam corder.

Great Pics first time I have actually seen pics. of elk that close that came from Michigan. It is great to see such an animal that is alive and well in Michigans North Country. :) Makes you feel warm and good inside.

WOW, how cool is that?
I think they're great pictures. Keep em coming. Maybe someday you'll be showing us a photo of you standing over that 5 x 5 with your bow :D

That is awsome to snap a picture like that. Just curious, that particular 5x5, how would that compare to a whitetail buck? Would it be like getting a picture of a real big ten pt. or more along the lines of an average 6pt? In any case, that is a beautiful animal.

Those are some beautiful pictures, can you keep the sheds if you find them? That would be a great workout rattling with those!

Yeah you can keep the sheds if you find them. I used to go every February looking for sheds. I would figure around valentines day and start looking. I have come across a few over the years.
Outdooralex - Believe it or not they are pretty common to see around here. I spend alot of time in the Pigeon running my dogs and not a week goes by that you don't come across a few out there. In the fall I can lay awake at night and here them bugling.
I shot a cow in 2000 and really enjoyed that hunt. Next will be a bull tag for sure.

About 10 years ago we had a real nice 6 point and a cow hanging out around our place at Wolverine Highway and Peters road up there. Haven't seen any since :(

Ya, we had a big bull hanging around here a few years back. When a neighbor first told me he had seen the bull, I figured it was right after he got out of the bar, but he wasn't kidding!
