Anybody know a source for the plastic scoopers for a 4" hole. They carried them a while back at Blue Water Bait in Fairhaven. Iv'e been trimming down a standard one but they break every season.

Lakeside should have them, or maybe Selfridge bait and tackle

I bought a cat litter scoop that works great, at Meijer for under a dollar. Have been using it for two years now without any breakage of the plastic in the cold. I tried that because I could not find a 4" scoop.:D

Not trying to be a smart *****, but what the heck are you planning on getting through a 4" hole? The slabber gills and crappie won't even fit through those holes will they? I am sure even if they will fit that many will be lost trying to get them up through that hole. Good luck!

caught a 15 3/8" 2.31 pound Lake simcoe perch thru a 4" hole in 20" of ice with no problem at all.

Big perch and gills can come up through a 4 inch hole. Now you do not jerk them up like you are fishing through a 8 inch hole mind you. Now you might be in trouble if you hook a good walleye or a pike using it but it can be done with a little finese. It is also much easier to drill a lot of holes with the 4 incher.

I swiped one of the wife's cheap plastic ladels from the kitchen and drilled half a dozen holes in it, tied a piece of chute cord to the handle and was in business.

I have pulled up a 5 lb smallmouth bass through a 4" hole. When your dealing withe ice in excess of a foot you can drill a ton of holes when your in search of perch.

Skinny ice small hole, thick ice big hole. I pull fat sunnies out of the 4" no prob. They have them at G.M. made by HT.
