Anyone one know if theres good ice out in front of the old candles (Campeu Bay)?

exploding varmints had a thread bout s. river road. he didnt make mention of the candels but pm him, i know he likes that spot. i doubt its fishable yet though. too much current in there.

i was out behind the bar (could see the blue sea wall) but i was not going out that far. the bay is iced over as far as i could see but how much ice i dunno. farthest i ventured was roughly 100 yards from shore and that ice was maybe maybe maybe 3". all dinks being caught by myself, a buddy, and 3 other guys that were out there. be carefull as that current is pretty stiff and does screw up the ice.

tuesday there were guys way over in the south west side of the bay. they were a long way from the access. I'd say they walked on from the houses over there. they were only there one day. pretty windy yesterday. some fish are in the basins at metro but you got to do ALOT of weeding out to keep a nice dozen. some guys walked across the island the past few days. be careful with the new snow. water comes up in some of the holes with the additional weight. slushy walking conditions and tough to tell what's underneath. ice along south shore of back basin is thinner than the rest of the bay. might be better by the island.
