Pretty much the last hour of daylight for me for LSC perch...For the gills/sunnies, anytime of day is fine...

I Ice fish more for walleye than any other.....My best time for #'s is deffinetly the 1/2 hr. before dark........but even though I do not do as good...my favorite time is just at sunrise!! I am a morning person...and it's just something about being out there.....cup of coffee from the thermos....-10 degrees but you have your coat off...heater going....and a couple of 1 1/2 lb walleyes on the ice....just gets me going!!!

It was a tough call between morning and just before dark. I picked morning because I fish the Sagnasty a lot and seem to do well first thing in the morning.
Crappie fishing around home is usually better towards dark, but I've had some good mornings as well.

i usually fish the last 3 hours of daylight, but last year, the dinks forced me to try something unusual (as far as perch fishing is concerned)

i only did it twice, and it worked for bigger fish each time....i started fishing 2 hours before sunrise with GID beads and wigglers....i never thought perch bit in the dark, based on not catching them after the sun went down...not so!!!

im thinking about employing this technique exclusively this year (if i can get up) and will post my results from each trip

anyone else tried it well before sunup???

First light, 10:00 bite and the world famous 2:00 bite to dark in that order. does that cover all the bases.....

Yep Koby, tried it last year about an hour before sunup.I think we talked about it last year, had good results off of cotton road and the barracks early.I didn't kill them, but it was better than dinkville during early moning and sundown. We'll see what happens this year, that early rise stuff got to me after a while.
