I would say it is probably safe with about 4-5 inches. It is deeper so it takes about a week longer to freeze up nice and good. With the perch coming out of Erie during the fall, i am guessing this will be a banner year for the dyke, on top of the eyes that really started to come in there last year, heard people taking limits in just an hour or two, and my bro caught a nice 7 lb eye through the ice last year the one time we fished it.

time to finish my rig for the b-dyke. i walked a boat on a cart back to the vermet for duck hunting & it wasn't bad at all, so i think my mountain bike & wagon concocktion should be a breeze. if i don't make it this weekend i'll hit it next for sure.
vince- you missed one hellava x-mas party we had with the dwf. maybe next yeaar.
i'll hollar atcha when i head to the b-dyke to see what you're doin

just a side note, bolodunn....with all of the snow on the ground right now and what is in the forecast for the next couple of days, i would think twice about trying to pedal a bike through all of this snow. maybe a set of snowshoes and a sled for your gear would be a better choice. it's one helluva walk (ride) especially with any depth to the snow. :fish:

Barry, glad you and your sons had a great time at the party. They know how to throw a party especially for the kids:grouphug: . Did you win any doors prizes that we could use...lol. If you need a hand make something to use out at the B-dike, let me know. Talk to you later.
