I was wondering who hunts with a tree saddle or suit.

Opinions?

Yes, first year with a Tree Saddle. Last year hunted out of a stand.

This year I hunted state and private land. Multiple trees. State land was able to move based on deer that I saw without much effort.

Took a five point off of state land with it (spike + some extra really) and an 8 point off private land.

Feels very safe, easy to maneuver once you get the hang of it, and can conceal yourself behind the tree while the deer approaches, etc.

I liked it.

Just purchased one but haven't had a chance to try it yet. Will try during the late bow season.

First, if you do a search for Tree Saddle you will find lots of information. I used my Ambush Saddle a few times this year but haven't been able to get a deer while using it yet.

Everything Riddle said is true...it is very safe, comfortable and pretty easy to use. Works excellent when going into new areas since you do not have a stand to carry, and also the flexibility it gives you when choosing trees to hunt from.

I cannot comment much on the Tree Suit, other than I have heard many people say that the webbing is fairly noisy.

I took a doe and 3pt out of the treesaddle. i was 20ft up and the deer came in at 5-10yards. they never knew i was there because i swung around the tree so the tree was between me and the deer. once i had a shot i repositioned myself. Best $200 i ever spent on hunting equipment in my eyes.

I have the treesuit. This Fall was my second season with it and I've taken 2 deer hunting out of it.
Spend the extra money an get the Saddle, I wish I did.It looks to be way more comfortable than the treesuit .
Also, Ack is right that nylon webbing is noisy. I think I'm gonna buy a saddle for next Season.

Any big guys out there using these ? I'm 47 years old, 5'-9" and 240 lbs.

I hunt out of hang on stands with climbing sticks now with no problems but the Tree Saddles don't look real comfortable for someone my size.

How easy are they to use with The Lone Wolf climbing sticks. Will I be sweating my **** off by the time I'm ready to hunt ?

I'm looking for more stand options for next season.

Thanks,
Pat

Not sure how it would work for a bigger guy, but I'm around 210 and do not have any problems. They are actually more comfortable than they look, and it is very easy and safe to fall asleep if one if you want to.

I use my Lone Wolf sticks when using my Ambush Saddle, and I do not think you would be sweating any more with it than if you were hanging a portable every time. Once you get your sticks up and your standing steps you just hook up and hunt...no pulling your stand off your back or up the tree and trying to hang it quietly....the Saddle hookup is about as silent a system as you can get.

If you have stands already set and just take in your sticks every time, then you probably wouldn't really benefit too much from using the Saddle. I feel it is a great tool to have when you want to hunt close to a bedding area where silence is critical, or just when you want to wander into a new area and do not know what kind of tree you'll be hunting in. I still use my hang-ons and climber, but the Saddle does get used equally as much.

The Tree Saddle is top-notch! I have found it to be much more comfortable than conventional tree stands, and much easier to maneuver in. As far as over-exerting yourself; I find it much easier to use than ANYTHING. Bottom Line: Get one....you won't be sorry.

I hunted from a tree suit this year. At first I thought it wasnt gunna work very good but as the season went on I found myself using it everyday. I like it so much that I am thinking about givint the tree saddle a try. It's a very comfortable and portable way to hunt.

I'm 6'4", 250#.

Hunted out of it with 4 sections of lone wolf climbing sticks to get me up in the tree. Basically high enough where my bow rope barely reached.

On state land, I used strap on steps to stand on or branches. Private land I used screw in steps (the ones that came with the Tree Saddle).
