I am looking for a place to stay in the Lake Simco area. I have never been there and had heard a lot about it.
Looking for a nice place to stay where they will take us out and set us up in a nice shantey with poles and all. This is going to be our Honeymoon.
I offered to take her to Las Vegas, but she wants to go some place rustic and do some ice fishing.
Anyone have a website for that area ???
Thanks,

Our first weekend together was spent up north Grouse hunting. We were a half mile from the truck and it started raining. She said if I wanted she would run back to the truck and get the rain gear. I thought forsure she was gunna say she wanted to go back to the hotel to a warm shower. That came after the hunt :D

My recommendation is to check out Ice Cabins of Gilford,
www.icecabins.com
Pete the owner is a real good guy. The onshore accommodations are perf for a couple (see pics on the site) and his huts can be very productive on the right day. I've rented his sleeper hut before (on ice fishing and sleeper) and stayed in the Ice Cabin (onshore, walking distance to the lake) and both where ok with the onshore cabin being the best with the bathroom and shower. Check the site.

First you have to tell me where I can find a wife like that!!! Then I'll give you some info.

Check out the Motel 400 in Gilford. Its no Four Seasons but it gets the job done for ice fishing and its pretty cheap and only about a 10 minute drive to Cooks Bay, if that.

Thanks for all the info. I recieved several Private messages and thanks for those as well.
I have been looking into staying at the Casino Rama http://www.casino-rama.com/hotel_gallery.aspx. We will blow a few bucks there and then the next day head on down and rent a "Ice Cabin" for the better part of that day. I recieved a PM from what looks like the owner operator of that outfit and will give him a ring this evening.
I was showing the guys at the shop the website of the ice cabin. They all want to plan a trip with the kids and stay a couple nights up there. So, I will check it out and then plan a trip for later in the winter.
Linda and I have been together for over 4 years now. Time to get a bigger place and build some kennels and keep breeding German Shorthairs. The place we are living in now is just not suitable.

She is a keeper for sure.
