I was wondering if someone could help with a little information on where to fish at little bay de noc. I think we are going sometime around the last week of February for walleyes. We usually fish the saginaw bay but for a change a pace and to get away we are looking to try something different. Is it fishable with 4 wheelers or do I need a snomobile? Thanks.

By febuary you probably be able to drive a truck out there:D But a 4 wheeler or snowmobile will work just fine here is the site where you can keep up to date on the ice conditions and whats working and not. http://www.baysdenoc.com/fishing-reports.shtml:)

You might check the motels or guides, cause a couple of years ago I could not get a room at the end of Feb. If I remember, the season ends in the bay Feb. 28. Maybe one of the other members could verify this.

The season does end on Feb 28. Depending on the snowpack, most years an ATV is just fine on the Bay all through the winter. By late February, the upper bay has been pounded for over 2 months. I would recommend fishing south of gladstone. Off the terrace is a good place. I have found Bay De Noc to be generally more challenging to catch numbers of fish than Saginaw Bay. Seems like its more "spot on the spot" fishing, with the much diverse contours. You might consider hiring a guide for the first day. It will probably make your trip much more productive. Number 7 raps are my jig of choice there in chartruese, FT, and clown.
If the walleye are less than cooperative, late season can be productive for whitefish and burbot. Have a great time and good luck.

Check with the local bait and tackle shops for ice fishing area's! Or if you get to area motels ask the desk clerk. Also look for the shantys on the bay lots of them out there and not to far of a walk either.. BIG TIM

Go light and mobile. If you wanna catch some fish your gonna wanna move A LOT! If its your first time bring a good GPS. We start scooting around and before your know it your miles away. Ice will be fine so don't worry about that. Can't be afraid to get out there a ways.
Of course you could always stay right on Gladstone with the 300 other guys.
I you got bigger gear, pimples and crocs and such, bring em. Don't be shy on ripping some big gear around.
