Picked up the mesh safety vest today and have a question on those of you that own one. If I were to fall those two legs straps would run right up my *****:tdo12: . I guess because the straps are sewn in the middle of the back instead of toward each hip. Now I own a four pt web harness now and would not have a problem with that one. Just wondering if any one else noticed this? Maybe I got a defected one.

Okay...hope I don't have to test her out. Otherwise I like the convienance and the added pockets.
So I saw for a nominal fee you can send the vest back to them and I belive they'll give you a new one...did you take advantage of that?

i will after the season is over
You strap it on as tight as you would a parachute. I'd rather have a sore *****, than a broken neck or back anyday!!!! I bought one this year and am very glad I did. It is the first comfortable harness I've bought and boy is it easy to put on...even in the dark. Of course the pockets and the deer drag strap come in very handy, although I'm hoping I'll get a chance to use the deer drag yet this year.
The wearing comfort, ease of use and extra pockets make up for the overall weight of it. It is built like a brick,...well you know what!!!!

The other thing I noticed is that the top chest strap does not an adjutment slide buckle as with the bottom strap. Suppose to be this way?

Best $110 I've spent in a long time (I've got the reversable version).
Also, mine has adjustment straps for both chest straps.
If you don't already have one - PUT IT ON YOUR CHRISTMAS LIST TODAY!

I've got the Hunter Pro version and it has adjustment straps for everything. I'm not that familiar with any of the other models, but i would think for safety reasons all straps would be adjustable. You may have to dig in there to find it and if you can't adjust it to where it fits you, then I'd exchange it for one that you can.
Great post! I'm just getting back into bowhunting and have been looking at them. I have one of the harnesses that came with a stand I bought but never have been able to get that thing on and adjusted. :bash: I'll pick up a vest style before next year.

I have the older version (no mesh) and I like the handiness of getting into it, I have never "tested" it thank god, but this guy did, you may want to see this video! http://www.bowsite.com/bowsite/features/articles/harnesstest/
:yikes: Seems your *** isn't what would be hurtin!
I will be going with Summit Seat O Pants when I can!

Those videos are interesting.
I bought the HSS vest this fall after a friend fell and was badly hurt. I am embarrased to say that prior to that, I had numerous belts and harnesses which I never wore because they were so much of a hassle. The HSS vest solved that, and I now wear it every time. I guess I won't mind trading a few seconds of gonad pain for having it on if I ever fall. Having said that, I would probably have bought the seat O Pants if I had seen that video before my purchase.

I bought one this year-I liked it so much, I spent a $110 and bought my hunting partner one.
Last week, I was in Ohio hunting. In the afternoon, we were checked by the DNR. Nice guys, but seemed a bit shaken. They said that that morning. they had cut a guy down out of a tree-dead! He was wearing a "safety belt" type strap. He was using a climbing stand, but the stand slipped. The strap cinched around him and he died of suffocation-awful :(.

You're a good buddy for doing that! I gave away my old Summit harness that I wasn't using to a guy at work that was using a strap around his waist!:yikes: I did'nt want that to happen to him. I encourage anybody else that has extra harnesses to give them to others that dont use one!
