Hey Shane,

Many schools down here give students Martin Luther King day off. I believe in '06, MLK day is 1/16. So if your school is one of those, you might have that Monday off and not even realize it.

alright, glad to see most people are all for the date change!

Ill Have a shanty. As for fish, you said there were bluegills, walleye etc. Ill probably bring waxxies, mousies and minnows for bait. Dont care what we fish for.

Yea we'll have to make sure we all BYOB (bring your own bait ;) ) and drinks..
So just to add we will meet at the Lake Fenton boat launch at noon. I will be there at 11:30 with my cell phone and we will wait til' about 12:30 to head out.

Okay well do you know where South long lake road is? Well if you come from torrey rd look for a 3-way light that blinks yellow and turn down S. long lake road and follow that down to Swannee beach dr. which is the 3rd rd on the left. Then follow that all the way down until it ends..make a left there and just keep going til' you see it on your right. If you come from north leroy turn left at rd next to the mobile gas station (south long lk rd) and follow that rd til you see Swannee beach dr., it will be the second rd on the right.

If you need any clearing up just ask...

if i am back from our trip to the U.P i would love to come only problem is that i dont really have an auger juts a spud and also as of right now i dont own an atv or anything like that. If i can make it i will bring my shanty it has a few duct tape patches but with a heater will help warm sum ppl up. also i have a few extra tip ups i can bring along with a spud.

Good fishing ( sometimes ) close to the DNR ramp. Don't worry about ice auger. you can used mine.

went to some shallow water today and was maybe 2 inch thick, real shallow water.....less than 3 feet. still a week yet to be safe (lake fenton that is)

yeah you can fish it this weekend...I wasn't scurred to walk on it and it didnt crack or anything...you can see its already being fished heavily, even over 10-12fow, just use caution take your safety gear and don't pack all the people in too tight.

Yea i though of that, but you see i want people to stay long enough to do some night fishing as well.I dont want to hear the "been out here to long" and have it end like at 9 o'clock. Plus if we start at noon that gives us 4 hours of spot fishing for the gills, and just the same amount of time for the tip-ups.

Went fishing off the ramp last weekend (yesterday) I caught two bluegill less than five inches long. Ice was about 5 inches thick, and there were lots of people out there.
