Does anybody that has shot both have an unbiased report for these?
I am NOT brand sensitive. I currently shoot an XTEC2000 Hoyt, I like it. But.....I'm one of those guys that buy something new every two years.
So, if there would be an apples to apples comparison from someone that just likes what is best, please let me know some thoughts.
Thanks -
Brad

I am not brand sensitive either, and I have been researching a ton over the past two months.
My own findings:
Hoyt- too heavy
SB- lots of string stretch issues, sounds high maintenance unless you buy custom strings and cables.
Bowtech- best speed, not a maintence issue with strings, and lighter than a Hoyt.
I am going with BT, but that is just me.

heres some new bows on the market , made by martin. (sister company)
http://rytera.com/
PSE is also makeing some very nice stuff , I shot a shark with hybrids , held well and no hand shock.
the mojo looks real nice , there are so many nice peices out there its hard now.
you just have to try and shoot as many of them as you can , and see what works for you.

Before I got my Bowtech I shot both Mathews and Hoyt. I liked the Hoyt, but it is a little on the heavy side (not always a bad thing as some shoot better with a heavier bow), but they didn't have the VTEC I wanted. I shot the Mathews SB, it's a nice bow so don't get me wrong, but I felt more hand shock than with the Bowtech or Hoyt. I took the Bowtech MM, because of it just felt the best when I shot it. I liked the speed, the way it felt in my hand and the low noise level. I was at Ed's (Clio) yesterday shooting and they had the new Mathews SB XT, so I shot it. It's faster than the 05 SB, but the hand shock was still there and it's $200 more than the Bowtech and $100 more than the Hoyt.

I shoot the Liberty 1 Yes, the short bow. lol That thing can shoot...30.5 with loop/leechs. 70lbs with 412 grain arrow 308 fps on chrono Not bad, with 85% let off.
I set up another liberty 1, 26.875 draw, 65lbs 360grain arrow with loop and leechs. 280fps on chrono
I set up a switchback for a guy 3 weeks ago. I wasn't too impressed (800.00) It was a nice bow, but not a 800.00 bow. Shot good, quiet, i would have expected little more speed though.
I know they having problems with the Alligiance, i belive it was the limbs cracking.

Its funny how things can spread around the internet. I have heard this claim before. I cannot tell you how many bowtechs I have owned in the past 2 years. It has to be at least 8 (I do a lot of buying/selling) Zero limb problems. My dealer says the same thing.

I do own a bowtech too :)
I have a G3.2, i'm getting ready to sell it (less than 200 shots thru it). I hunted with it one year and its been in original box ever since. Then i'm going to buy my wife a bow.

IBO = 316fps
International Bowhunting Organization. Means that the bow is shot at 30" draw with 350 grain arrow at 70#.

Back to the first post...
I do not own eather bows nor do I work or know any owners of shops. This is MY thoughts on both bows.
I have shot both the bow mentioned.
Hoyt
THe hoyt was very well made and shot very good. Next to no vibs and very quite. Very nice
Mathews
The switchback shot well veryfast but seemed louder to me. The switchback seemed to pull easyer than the hoyt . seend to vidrate more.
I dont remember what the poundage was on the Mathews but the hoyt was Maxed out and was a 70 pounder so maybe 72 or so
I also shot Both bows with no stablizers and cheap rests, mixed matched arrows.
On both bows while drawing them I really noticed the "wall" was there but...I feel the Hoyt was less forgiving at the "wall" This could also be that I havent shot alot since gun season started
I have shot all 3 brands over the years and I love my Allegiance more than any bow I have ever owned. No problems whatsoever and I have really put her through hell this year! Limb issues exist with every brand from time to time, but I have not had a problem at all. I haven't shot the Trykon yet but I have heard a lot of positive feedback. Didn't care for the Switchback that much, maybe it was the grip. Didn't feel right in my hand. I'll be deciding on my newest toy after the new year when I can shoot the Trykon and the 06 Allegiance and the new Tribute.

Like others that have replied here, I too shoot a Bowtech. But I believe the question asked us to compare the Switchback to the Trykon. In my opinion the Switchback is lighter, smoother drawing, has less hand shock, is quieter and is faster. With that said, shoot em' both and get what you like!!! Don't base your decision on what someone else tells you.

Exactly!...get what feels the best when you shoot. If you like the way it shoots, you'll shoot better than you would with one you don't.

Hi, I sold my Hoyt Cyber-Tec to buy the Mathews Switchback, and am I glad that I did that! That Switchback is a solid bow with a smooth draw. I can't comment about the Trykon because I havn't shot it, but I did shoot the Cyber Tec for 2 years, I liked it, but the Mathews is better IMHO. If I could not have the Mathews, I would probably look at the new Bow Tech Tribute. I buddy of mind has the BT Alliegance and I could not believe how light it was to hold!
Good Luck! :)
