drove down there today. five or six guys out on the ice, not very far out though. channel is still broken up but there is ice out 300 yards with guys only going about 15 yards out. still going with next thursday

The guy who runs the bait area told me that they were catching lots of small fish in two to three feet of water (very few fish bigger than eight inches, he said). Guys had told him that the ice was three or four inches where they were fishing. A few guys had their lines broken by pike.

I didn't have much time to talk, so that's all I heard. It did however, make me very anxious to get out their and give it a try!!!
