Congrats on a fine freezer filler!
Here's a good one for you Muzzy users. My friend called my from Wall-mart last week and tells me they have the 3 pack of Muzzy 100gr 3 blades on sale for $5. :yikes:
I had him pick me two packs and he got 2 packs for himself.
Regular $15 marked down to $5.. what a great deal!

I'm a Muzzy fan too ,but it's all about shot placement . Good job !;)
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I don't know if they're the best or not but for the last ten years they're all I've used and they never let me down. In fact, I've seen the last four bowkills go down, three within 50 yards. You're right, shot placement is ofutmost importance. Good luck in late bow season, John-Ypsi.

I too am a muzzy fan but I think Slick Tricks are a little stronger when it comes to the thickness of blades and how the blades lock together.

Nice doe! Congrats!
I could never get my 3 blade Muzzys 100gr to fly straight, and believe me I tried! I went with Montec G5's and I will never look back! They hit where my field points hit.

I know this is a "Ford vs Chevy" thing but I've always used em (4 blade 100 grain) and been VERY pleased with their performance. I also really like the way they go together etc. I also like the practice blades etc etc blah blah blah :grouphug:

you are right. One thing that I have found with archery is that no 2 bows are set up the same. That is because the bow is an extenuation of the shooters body and no 2 people are exactly the same. Then throw in there some personal preference and you are not gunna find any to set ups the same.

Hoyt / Muzzy combo? I'm sure it's a good one.
Mathews / Thunderhead combo? This is the one I prefer.
Never thought I'd give in to all the Mathews hype. Then I shot one. HAD TO HAVE ONE!!!

Tried Muzzy's a few years back and couldn't get them to hit where my field tips hit, so I became a mechanical fan. Started shooting the 'Slick Trick' last year and will never go back. Absolutely amazing accuracy, penetration, and damage. A blind man could follow the blood trail left by a Slick Trick.
Shot placement, can't forget shot placement......numero uno no matter what kind of equipment you prefer!!!!

If you use muzzys you should shot over 60 lbs. or they will get stuck in a shoulder blade.

I used to shoot muzzy's with my old setup but I could never get them to fly good with my lighter carbons. I paper tuned my bow and worked on it the the tech but never had good consistency. Now I use Rocket steelheads and they fly just like my feild tips.
Like others have said, it's whatever your comfortable with, you need confidence in your equipment when you go in the woods.
Trust me, I was freaking out after practicing for months then tring out my broadheads a week before season and they're all over the place! That will never happen again.

Muzzy has a new MX-4 , low profile , fixed blade broadhead coming out in 2006 that is supposed to offer better arrow flight than their current fixed blade BH's at faster arrow speeds .
I'll be trying some out .

How did you hear about those new Broadheads and when do youy think they will be out

I tried Muzzy"s a while back and found them to fly erratically. I use Vortex 125 grain with a 2.75 INCH cutting swath. I have shot them with many types of bows and poundages. They fly flat as field-points, and make a hole the size of a tennis ball, going in and out!
Yes, might be overkill, but I have yet to have a deer run more than 60 yards while using these products.
That said, if you are satisfied, and more importantly, confident, of your capabilities with this product, all the power to ya.
p.s. Nice deer btw!
