Wanted to shoot the muzzleloader one last time before I took it out hunting next week and my girlfriend has been bugging me about wanting to hunt. I told her it would be best if we spent a little bit of time at the range first. She had never shot a muzzleloader before, or any gun for that matter and she was a little worried about it kicking. I said "you'll be fine, they really don't kick too bad" she didn't believe me so her first shot she was low and right but still in the kill zone........target was at 100 yards. She said "hey that didn't kick too bad, I want to shoot it some more" so she shot some more......I think her final 3 shots were sufficient.......target had 1" squares just so you can get an idea on the group size. And I was served a piece of humble pie!!!! I've been very happy with the performance of the shockwaves accuracy wise, just need to see how they measure up on a deer now!!!

NorthEast,
I would agree the last three would get a deer.......now I just gotta find a nice buck to put her in front of. And if I had that answer I'd be posting pictures of deer instead of pictures of targets.....ha ha ha!!!

Hitting what you aim for is the difficult part, once you have that mastered it all becomes a matter of luck and time. Mostly a matter of time- I have this theory that if somebody could stay in their blind/stand long enough a 200 class buck eventually will present itself for a shot. It may take 2-300 years but it will eventually happen:lol: Unfortunately the aging process, and the need to go to the bathroom will make my theory impossible to prove!:(

I too have seen good accuracy with those Powerbelts. I am a little concerned about bullet performance in deer though, as DEERSLAYER shot a nice doe last year and his POwerbelt nearly disintegrated and gave no exit wound.
Let me know how theu perform for you, as I am supposed to be picking up my new Encore tomorrow, and I need to work up some loads.

I shoot 250 grain Shockwaves (made by Hornady) with 3 - 50 grain pellets in my Encore and have no problems in getting "exit wounds".:)
