Shane before you even think about getting a camera, I would get the VEX. I feel the vex is a lot more educational and will help you in catching fish a lot more than a camera. The camera is nice for seeing first hand what type of fish are under you and will help you to determine what the surroundings look like, but there are some drawbacks to the camera as well. If the water is murky it limits visibility, you can't see the entire water column at one time, and although just speculation I feel it could spook some fish. Go for the sure thing and get the vex. Good luck in finding one for 200 or less though.

I did it in reverse order, but I havent used either one yet. Id go for the VEX, go to their website, they have refurbished ones for 239 I believe.

Buy and use a Vexilar (i.e., sonar) first. You will not be sorry.

LOL, now i know what your thinking, another thread about this..

Scinse it christmas time and some of you may be "upgrading" :D to a better vex or aqua-vu, i was wondering if anyone had one (either one) for sale or they might want to sell for around $200 or under..Thanks...

Can't seem to figure out what i want..Vex or Aqua-Vu. I was 100% Aqua-Vu but i'm having second guesses here.

I know you live on Lake Fenton and the Aqua-Vu would be nice there but the Vex would be the first one to get. The Vu need light, I know it has lights but the light don't do what I though and I don't use them anymore. HANDS DOWN, (GET THE VEX FIRST). You want be sorry.

Another vote for the VEX. it works in clean and dirty water. Once you learn how to use it properly its just like having a camera down in the hole!

Just got back from Gander Mtn in Port Huron, They have the Vex Fl8 pro for only $249! If you have a Gander Mtn, close by Im sure they'll match the price.

Go with the vex. With the Aqua Vu the camera has to be at or near the depth you are fishing and nothing is more fun than trying to unwrap your line from the camera cable when it is below zero with a wind blowing.
