Steve, I have noticed that a lot of your favorite flies have peacock herl with red floss in the middle for the bodies(Ie, royal wulf, Mcnult, dark spruce) What's up with that? are those the "Prime" colors for Southern Mi streams or something? I have never tried any of these flies but I think I'm going to buy some red floss and give it a go!
BTW I hope to send in a few more flies sometime next week. I wish others would do the same!!!

Not neccessarily more effective for any part of the state. Just some colors/patterns that work for me. As I'm sure you know, you have to have confidence in what you are fishing with.

Yeah I know what you mean! Today I didn't catch a fish until I swtiched to my confidence streamer(Yellow rattlesnake).
I tried some similar patterns to the Dark spruce but they didn't sink very well, Do you like to weight them or just fish them in the slower pools? (Were only sinking about 4 or 5 inches) Caddis Hatch was off the hook, though...As mentioned by my report.
