Thinking seriously about getting a kick sled to use for icefishing. Seems like a quick and simple way to get about on the ice . Does anyone have any experience or advice on using kick sleds ? Below is one sample from the many samples online .

I didn't know what a kick sled was until I did a search for it.

Apparently kick sleds are popular in Scandanavian countries and have been around for a while . Some models are made for icefishing purposes .

They look neat but I dont think it would be effective in deep snow, unless you could follow a beaten down path.

Based on what I just saw on the link. I am going to start carrying a gun on the ice. If I see someone dressed like that go by me I AM GOING TO HAVE TO SHOOT MYSELF.

for safety:
- Keep your both hands on handlebar. For turning signal, use your leg
Gotta be tough to light a smoke and swig the jug with both hands on the handlebar and one leg pointing straight out.

i've seen them used on lake simcoe. they work great when there is no snow , but if there is any significant amount of snow you will be s.o.l.
