at 11:00am on Thanks Giving - boy what a day from hell. I spent Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at my Inlaw's in Ludington.

Wednesday was great, a bit cold but great, I went out and opened up my parents cabin, took the girls for a run around the 85 acre property edge, no grouse found, but they are there somewhere, then met with Rudi's Dad for a walk through his personal pheasant heaven, we moved 15-20 birds in his food plot. It was good to see birds on the wing, we sat in his basement and played with Rose and Rudi, shared stories and shopped maps. I told Dick I was not going to fish that day but I did anyway. Did not catch anything but my face froze.

My brother in law showed up Wednesday night, the winds were brutal and after running the dogs for all of 20 minutes at a Soccer Field on Thursday Morning, I finished off the Upland Equation by Fergus (great read BTW but you pointing dog guys would not like it, due to his comments on best dogs for grouse hunting). Well it was 11:00am and my BIL Steve said, you ready? I said sure, so we played Gin for an hour and drank, then the Lions came on, did I mention they suck.

I took a nap in the second half, had a bowl of pheasant chili I made....Overall it was a nice day, but I guess I get a little bored.

I was suppose to go to the in-laws in Grand Rapids on Friday but the weather was "way to dangerous" for travel ;) . I ended up running the dog at Brown Bridge Quiet Area for an hour and then followed that up with a nice glass of Beam and the company of Burton Spiller. Looks pretty nice out right now actually...thinking I might just repeat yesterday.

Wow that brought back some memories. I grew up about two miles from Brown Bridge. Before it was a quiet area. I used to do a lot of hunting and trapping around that pond. That was one of my most prized bird covers for a lot of years. Shot my first double limit there, 5 woodies and 5 grouse On sept 15, 1988.

Well, let's see. In the last couple days, I have over-eaten mulitiple times, taken a few naps, and enjoyed a few adult beverages in the company of family and a few friends. On top of driving all over the state and having to attend a wedding today, this weekend is going to feel more like work than anything. Fortunately, I missed the wedding portion and am now waiting to go to the reception!(That in itself is another story having to do with being too fat and having to drive to the mall for new pants!!! )

I began the weekend steelheading the day before T giving, had a ok day on the river seeing it was a beautiful day. On thanksgiving I woke up and fished from 7-10am until I couldnt stand the 10 degree temps and wind anymore, I then headed to our parents cabin for the day. Ate a big dinner with mom and dad and just relaxed. The next day I helped around teh cabin taking the dock out and cleaning things up with my dad. Let the dog swim run at his free will, then I headed back to GR for work in the afternoon

Fred,Sounds like a great weekend, anytime with the inlaws for you is a good one.

Jay, You over ate? That is not like you. Did you have a shirley temple too?

Hey Fred what is "all you keep perch" ? And as stated in your second line Jay did order a shirley temple. And I believe it is Loser not Looser. Good effort though.
