Wilderness Archery on Maple just North of Jackson. It's tucked back in of the strip mall with Dunhams, and K-mart. Very helpful, indoor ranges, and disc golf frisbees !!

oops, sorry about that I didn't know wilderness had shut down. I'm sorry to hear that I dealt with them last season, but did not make it in this season. They were extremely helpful to this newbie.

Wilderness Archery is not closed. Alan and some other investers bought out Pete. My friend was in there and got a string and cable (after they blew up shooting at a deer) and Alan fixed his bow. That was November 5, I just tried to confirm again, but the phone was busy. ;)Just called again and the name has been changed to Four Seasons Archery. :)The phone number is 734-913-6283

my vote for Van's
They stand behind there products and sales. I was treated very fairly when my son started shooting. Bought him a bow to start shooting at the JOAD program. After I wrote his name all over the bow, they were willing to take it back for a smaller size bow (I did not take them up on the offer).
Good people and just right up the road from Ann Arbor.

I like Van's also, but..
I spent a couple of hours at Hog Wild in Belleville last night. Howard and his wife will be my bow shop of choice from now on. ;)
Hog Wild is probably the nearest shop to Ann Arbor.

I will second that Fred Bear. Shupbachs has been good to me for the last 13 yrs of business I have gave them. I believe they told me they were the number 1 dealer in the state for mathews. It doesnt matter. I believe they have excellent service and knowledge. Go in and ask for Gordy or Brian. I would love to hear of a bad complaint from this store that didnt get resolved. Excellent professionalism.

I wouldn't hesitate to go to either one. Done lots of business with both, with no complaints. Planning to head to Hog Wild this weekend to purchase a new bow. Howard and Carol have done good by us time and time again. The hours can sometimes get frustrating, but well worth it.

I went to Van's once to try out a Switchback. They seemed very knowledgeable and they were certainly very friendly.
I got no pressure, just helpful info and the chance to try out the new switchback (Which I LOVED by the way. I just can't justify getting one since I'm happy with my LX. It just has less shock, thats about the only difference. Sorry for getting off subject).
